Next ECA Meeting in Mexico
This is the SECOND CALL for The "SECOND ANNUAL MEETING OF THE EAGLE CONSERVATION ALLIANCE" that will be held on September 4th through 7th 2007 at Africam Safari, Puebla, Mexico.The workshop is organized, hosted and funded by the following Institutions: Africam Safari, The Zoological Society of San Diego, the SeaWorld/Busch Gardens Conservation Fund, the Smithsonian's National Zoological Park and the Aquila Foundation. THE GENERAL AIM is to bring together individuals and institutions with remarkable interests in eagles to discuss issues of mutual concern, including:
- the challenges of breeding and managing ex situ populations;
- developing and supporting research that generates knowledge benefiting eagles ex situ and in situ;
- increasing public awareness and sustainable community based conservation programs
- developing actions that directly assist in conserving and managing eagles worldwide.
- Share ADVANCES in initiatives, programs and science regarding eagle conservation world wide.
- Implementing ECA structure, function, organization and high priority programs.
- Incorporate initiatives and perspectives focused on education, community based oriented programs and native local cultures.
- Bring attention on eagle needs and conservation initiatives in Mexico, the country hosting the meeting.
- Agglutinate the experience of Masters in disciplines relevant to eagle conservation through round tables of experts to integrate this knowledge into the ECA programs and to contribute to disseminate information able to improve eagle conservation programs.
